Services
Sourcd is a Vietnam sourcing agency on a transparent commission. We find your factory, verify the business, negotiate the contract, and run quality control across pre-production, during production, and pre-shipment. Your freight forwarder takes it from there. Here is exactly what our service covers and where the handoff is.
Our service
Sourcd is a sourcing agency. We sit between Vietnamese factories and the importers who buy from them. That means finding the right factory for your product, verifying their Vietnamese business registration and capacity, coordinating samples, negotiating price and contract terms on your behalf, and running quality control across pre-production, during production, and pre-shipment. Quality control is what you are paying us for. Where our scope ends: physical shipping, freight booking, port logistics, customs clearance, and destination documentation are run by your freight forwarder, not by us. The handoff is when the sealed container leaves the factory.
What we are not: we do not manufacture, we do not hold inventory, we do not own the goods, and we are not a freight forwarder. The contract is between you and the factory. We are the operator that makes the sourcing side of the corridor work, on a transparent commission with no markup on factory prices.
Sourcd is a US-incorporated company with our operations team based in Ho Chi Minh City. Buyers contract with the US entity, which means your commercial agreement sits under US contract law rather than under Vietnamese commercial jurisdiction. Read why that matters for African importers.
Who we work with. Importers, distributors, brand owners, hotel groups, retailers, and trading houses. From first-time buyers placing one container to repeat buyers running quarterly volumes.
How we work
Here is what happens at every step and what we deliver.
What you provide: product spec or reference photo, target quantity, destination port, ideal timing.
What we deliver: a feasibility read with an indicative landed price range and a sense of whether Vietnam is the right origin for what you need.
Timeline: 48 hours from when you submit the brief.
What we deliver: a shortlist of 2 to 4 vetted Vietnamese factories that match your spec, with factory invoice estimates, MOQ, sample lead time, and a quality read on each. Every supplier is checked against Vietnamese business registration records so you know you are dealing with the actual manufacturer, not a broker or a shell.
What you provide: clarifications on spec where the factory needs more detail.
Timeline: 5 to 10 business days, depending on category.
What we deliver: samples from your selected factories, factory invoices presented separately from our commission, and confirmed pricing on the order.
What you do: review samples, decide which factory to move forward with, and lock the spec.
Timeline: 10 to 30 days for sampling, depending on category and customisation.
What we deliver: negotiation of factory terms in Vietnamese, contract structure, deposit and payment milestone scheduling, and final spec confirmation with the factory.
What you do: sign the agreement once the spec, price, and timeline are locked. Transfer the deposit to the factory per the agreed terms.
Timeline: 7 to 14 days from sample approval to signed contract.
What we deliver: pre-production sample approval, during-production inspections with photo and video reporting, and a pre-shipment inspection at the factory loading bay before the container is sealed. Status check-ins and escalation when the factory needs to be kept on schedule. We stay on the relationship until the goods are ready to leave the factory.
What you do: appoint your freight forwarder. They handle the physical shipping, port logistics, export documentation, and customs clearance at destination. Make the final payment per agreed milestones.
Timeline: 30 to 90 days production, depending on category and order size.
What's included
What is not included: physical shipping, freight booking, port logistics, export documentation, and customs clearance. Those sit with your freight forwarder.
How we charge
We charge a commission on the order value, agreed upfront and in writing. We do not mark up factory prices. The factory invoice you see is the price the factory quoted, exactly as the supplier issued it. Our commission is the only line item we earn on.
The commission percentage depends on category, order size, and complexity. We share it at the quote stage so you can decide whether the math works for your margin before you commit.
Why this model. Most sourcing agencies make money on hidden margins inside the factory invoice. That structure incentivises them to inflate factory prices and obscure the relationship with the manufacturer. We made the opposite choice. You see the factory invoice. You see our commission. There is nothing else to find.
